well I was seriously considering attempting to mod on a shaker like this, Image
, onto my EF but after finding out hte cost of the things, $1795.00, either I'm dreamin or they are!!! , there's no way they can be worth that much, surely, and then there's the bonnet modding to do  doesn't look like it would be that hard though, so does anyone know where I can get one cheaper, alot cheaper....

edit: thanks to whoever fixed up the post for me, the pic didn't show when I first posted.

wont find them much cheaper than that mate. It comes with the airbox and all the hoses aswell (maybe even a filter). and they cut the bonnet and line it all up for ya. Its nto over the top for the work that goes into it.

ahhh, maybe I didn't ask them the right question then, I'm keen to do it myself, well most of it, not interested in the airbox, and hoses I can get anywhere, the hardest bit I can see will be cutting and bracing the bonnet, but nothing a good panel beater could'nt do if he put his mind to it, time I started looking for a s/h bonnet, any one got a spare XR8 one laying around :)

Guys, do a search in the forum for "shaker" as it's been discussed before.

good for you (god I hate these responses), but nothing was resovled, and that thread was about a different setup, with this one just rating a mention, rather than dredge up a dead thread and wade through countless other that may have the word in the text somewhere, I thought I'd ask on the particular shaker I want to fit, that's what this forum is about isn't it? if you've nothing to contribute please go away :x

It's good to have a specific question but there are cases where a lot of people don't bother searching for exisiting topics or want to go through them and so they slap up another repeat thread which annoys many members who have already discussed it. If you CBF or don't have the time to check them all before posting then don't take it out on others. My suggestion was just that so there's no need to throw a fit.

It certainly is so don't pretend that I have stated otherwise, it belittles you.

now that I've been put in my place  has anyone seen what's under the shaker part of the particular version in the pic above, wondering if it would be easy to replicate using a older or even the cheaper replica version available, along with some good ole' pvc pipe fitting and aluminium, obviously my searching ability sucks as I have been able to find anything.

There was a black XY GT replica fitted with a fuel injected motor and a shaker in street machine years ago. He used a fiberglass top and made up an airbox underneath it - with 3" ducting going to an airflow meter and two 90' elbows feeding back into the throttle body. There is also a nice Grey EL Fairmont 6 in Adelaide with the shaker fitted to it who comes into fordmods from time to time.
