I'm not 100% but my diff and gearbox mechanic says he can do my EF no problems, so I asume yours would be same.

The BA utes have a different housing to the sedans.. Live axle Vs IRS.. I'm not sure of the centres on a ute, but they are interchangeable sedan - to - sedan(or territory)

Do you have a V8/Turbo or I6?

For the more powerful you can adapt a 9" to the rear of your car to make a bulletproof weapon, with an I6 it would be too much mass to move on a day to day basis..

Wehn I next go home I'll have a look and see what I can find on the differences of internals Live axle Vs IRS..

Hope this helps.. (Eg. you have a V8 and want a 9") haha

Happy Motoring

a diff is a diff, as long as you find another ute one (as mentioned, live axle as opposed to IRS) then you should be fine.

however...

i dont know about the speed senders on BAs if they are a data line or a hall effect thing like on e series.

on the e series you just need to swap to the appropriate speedo gear in the gearbox. not sure with BAs.
