just found out my break light are not working and i know they did yesterday. the fuse is not ruptured and the switch seem to be working (just replaced). i did just clean out my engine bay about 2hrs ago. could it be that?

check ur lights themselves, and double check the switch with a good test light or a multimeter

also check the fuse with a multimeter , a fuse can seem ok and not blown.

na just swapped the break lamp fuse with the indicator fuse and still dont work.

check the bulbs themselves
also if you were abit rough you might have pulled something loose? |

na was not rough at all. checked bulbs today they are fine. the 100A fuse in the main fuse box was blown was gunna replace today but i got wrong fuse. gunna change it tomorrow. if it dont fix the prob i have a mate who is gunna help me find the prob

The most common cause of all three brake lights failing is the dreadfully designed switch on the brake pedal which wears on the pivot hole..It is a bugger to get to as you have to be double jointed to get your head and hands up under the dash..having said that, with 30mins, some cursing, a few scratches, a sore back and about $25.00 you can replace the unit yourself with just a pair of strong point nosed pliers to remove the retaining clip..watch how it comes out and off the pedal to ensure you fit the new one back correctly....Cheers barry59

founds out what the prob was. i have a switch in my fuse box to turn my break lights off and it was a wire that had come disconnected. so took the switch out and now it works. and also founds out that the last owner of the car had done a bad re wire job on the car. because the break lights are wired into the boot light. so when ya press the break the boot light comes on
