even though the standard snorkel is lacking, the real problem is the small area it has to gather air.

try feeding a pipe from the front air dam to the entrance of the snorkel

Ram air is the best thing!

I had on my xr8 before a 90 degree elbow coming up on a bit of pipe up under the airbox, worked well.

Also all the ribs in your airbox can create turbulence too, if you de rib it, it will be smoother too.

I did the same, imo the ribs probably cause a bit of a restriction.

i have an idea for my ba xt im having a gt bodykit installed this week and i have been tryin to get foglights for them for want 500 just for parts which imo aint worth the money so im thinking of running the black ribbed hose similar to the pic above from behind the fog light hole and putting some autobarn mesh to stop bugs and running them hoses up to the airbox and cuting holes in the box for them and sealing up what do you blokes recon spoke to a engineer and he recons it should make quite a noticible diference?

yeah ford said 150 per light then 75 for wiring relays etc per light then was about 50 for the buttons then id need autolec to wire up doesnt seem worth the money just for driving lights whereas the intake idea would cost jack s**t and hopefully make a decent gain well thats my reasoning on it

yer well thats right and in nsw u can get booked for having them on when it's not foggy so stick to the intake just cut a 95mm hole in the bottom of ur air box throught the metan guard then feed some ducting up there worked great on my el

yeah seen a few forums and blogs about people complaining about the driving/foglights which i dony understand they contradicted themselves by saying they only light up the dark space between car and the bottom of where your headlights face yet state that tey blind other drivers when they are a lower wattage than headlights? so anyway was there a noticeable difference in power and economy? the engineer said that you can never get enough air in there so aving to pipes plus the standard snorkel should make a decent difference might get the typhoon set up also

oh s**t yeah the car goes heaps better and the fuel economy on long trips with cruze i've had 9.0L/100km wich is great i think just watch out for the police cause the more air u get the louder it is so if u got a exhuast it will be heaps louder
