Heya i got a BA ute and when ever i turn the a/c on for a bit, water will leak into the foot wells of both sides and its quite a bit of water too. it will do it especially if u turn a corner a bit fast. im guessing a drain hole is blocked or something but i cant find where it is. any one had the same problem?

Hi, a friends el fairmont has the same problem. im going to wreckers tomorrow to suss out the heaterbox/air con unit on a wreck. im hoping for the same diagnosis. on older cars they usually had a drain off the back of the a/c which ran out thru the lower firewall.will let u know if i find anything.

the drain line could be blocked and hence its leaking onto the floor.

If it smells of coolant you have done a heater core!
These were common in early BA's

Mine did this after the big hail storms. Got crap caught inthe drain tube, so it was overflowing. made car smell musty, (problem)

Eventaully got the service guys to clean it when the car was getting its pink slip.

the drain hole sounds like the problem. can this be unblocked underneath the car or do i need to remove a couple of fascia panels inside the car to find where it drains out... i couldn't see anything underneath the car. but i dont know where to look tho...

obviously the drain hole/pipe will be under the car...thats where it is drained to...get underneath the firewall area, here should be a hole or small hose pipe somewhere there...
