hi noticed the last few weeks after pulling up in the driveway and turning off the car there is a whirring noise coming from the left hand side of the engine that winds down and stops this takes approximately 3 to 4 seconds after the car has completely shut off doesnt happen everytime but it does happen pretty occasionally any ideas?

it's not only when u have the AC running is it ?

It's probably just your fans slowing down to a stop, they spin pretty fast even on low (normal) speed and just takes a few seconds for them to stop, this is most likely what you are hearing. My car does exactly the same thing, except mine squeak haha :D

fair enough yeah hasnt always done it so i was a little concerned cause it sounds like its coming from the ecu

their are leaves stuck in the fan filter tray, its behind the glovebox, leaves get stuck in the tray and the fan blows on them making the noise, hope that helps...Vito.

I hear the same thing if i leave the climate control fan on, parcelling above the off. when i turn the engine off, it'll switch the fan off a few seconds after. you could also hear a vacuum sound as if the vents are closing.

nothing to fear mate.
