just wondering how much of a difference this setup would make over the stock one. wondering if its worth it because it seems pretty easy to do yourself.

your money would be better spent on an XR6T snorkel.

mate i'm doing the same for my au. got a single inch pipe from the existing intake rubber bend to the box with a pod in it and an xr6t intake and it made a huge difference. better torque and low end pick up. also gained and extra 15km/h at high revs. dont think these other boys know much about the blue oval

i dont see how it would gain more hp on the ba as the factory intake from the throttle body is the same diameter..3"
the polished pipe just looks pretty.lol

but yes! on the au the part from the flex hose to the airbox needs to be thrown in the bin as that is the restrictive part..lol
i personally love the look of the polished intake..
and if can do it cheap go for it..
it wont make it go any worse.

but on ba the std air intake seems to be perfect..
all you need is the xr6t snorkle/k&n filter..

that my opinion anyway..

yeah the au front arm is restrictive but overall not much different from the 3 inch pipe, as the smaller diameter entry point widens and has a slight bend at a rate that promotes air swirl in a vortex like fashion which increases velocity. problem is you cant hook a pod onto the front arm. pods healp with swirl, but not as much as the way the front arm is designed. the same arm but 3 inch- 3.5 inch at the end would have been the best design.

can I ask how the fck you can get an extra 15kmh out of your car at high revs? your car has a rev limiter - it limits the revs which in turn limits the speed you can get out of each gear.

Also asmentioned - BA is already 3"!
