Hello all, I'm having idle problems with the idle control solenoid plugged in.
When the car is started the car revs up to 1800 revs then comes back down to 1200 revs when the car is hot or cold. When a load is put on the engine ie in gear or air con is on it revs back up to 1800 revs sometimes higher a hissing sound can be heard when the idle goes up. I ran the diagnostic engine running test it reported error codes 411 and 412 idle speed control fail, i'm sure the base idle screw is correctly adjusted cause I checked the gap from behind the idle screw and the back of the accelerator stop tap with a 0.75 selected feeler gage. I have replaced the idle control solenoid with another its clean inside and inside the throttlebody.
If I have a vacume leak im not exactly sure where its comming from.
Anyone out there have anything problems like this? suggestions??
As you can imagine i'm driving with the idle control solenoid unpluged.
