I have installed a tickford brake upgrade on my AU2XR8. I want to put some authenticity into the package and scribe the "premium brake upgrade" into the tickford VIN plate.

does anyone know what exactly was printed and have they got a photo of one?

cheers

I wouldn't stamp it on there as it didn't come from the factory like that.
It would be false advertising to sell it saying it came from factory like that when it didn't so it'd be best if you left the plate alone.
However I'll try and find a photo of the plate anyway.

i'm sure it was stamped on the tickford plate. not the ford factory VIN plate, as with all other falcon models.

yes, granted, it would be a little "deceiving", but harmless I say. I mean the factory fitted premium brake package(tickford winged cobra type) is on the car (not same discs though, but they are replacment items anyway).

no i'm not selling it!

I know its not for sale I was just putting my two cents in. Basically the only reason you want to stamp it is for yourself when you open the bonnet?

Unless you take the plate off first you'd risk denting or damaging the paint/metal underneath if you stamped it now.

I've searched a fair bit and can't find any photos for you unfortuantely. I'll keep looking in the meantime.

DO NOT TOUCH your VIN plate

any changes to the vin plate other than factory will be deemed illeagal and not a good thing

...i say again

its NOT the factory VIN plate, its the tickford option plate.

you know the one with the red tickford wings and all the options like leather interior, sunroof, and yes premium brake package.

i agree dont stamp the plate.
i will be false advertising to sell it (if you ever wanted to sell it)saying it came from factory like that when it didn't would take away its originallity.
pretty much making the plate false and worthless..

thats just my opinion...

Mate, if you want to stamp your plate, stamp your plate.

There is nothing illegal about it, as long as when you do sell it, and if asked, you are honest and tell the purchaser the real story.

I can understand wanting to do it, but not sure that I would care enough to actually do it tho.... each to their own I say.
