Im looking for an in-dash motorized one. As if you wouldnt want a dvd player in your car, put it this way a mp3 cd player will play approx 200 songs because thats all a cd can hol whereas a dvd holds at least 3000 songs. Also you can watch stuff on it too!

JB have a sale on their pioneer models, they were 3700 now to 1700ish, still a fair bit, but its nice looking unit, good name and quality picture with cd/dvd? player built in.
Something to think about, if i didnt have mine id consider it, 6.5" screen.

I totally agree Daniel.....

from DVD movies, music, music video clips, picture slideshows, tv, xbox, what more could you want in a car.

I use the sony (dvx-77) screen which you can either have a hideaway dvd player such as a stacker, cd stacker, tv tuner or other input source such as xbox, minidisc player, camera. Since i've got the double din space to fill I complimented the screen with the sony dvd player (dvx-11A)

Cheers

Good question - it is about that time where screens (motorised and non) are getting very cheap...alot of generic name brands that accept RCA / S-video inputs etc which will suit nearly any application.

Depends on how much you want to spend ultimately. Have you seen those ones built into the sunvisors ? Not my cup of tea...but they are cheap !

With a source unit like a DVD player and a screen - you could get away with spending ~$500 - $1000 depending on what units you looked at (name brands like Pioneer, JVC, Sony, Clarion, Alpine to name a few).

Cheers,
Steve

I'd recommend checking out ebay and Strathfield for the bargains - generic branded units are very cheap - could probably get away with $500 for the lot *shrugs*.

You really have to say what you're after --> ie separate screen and separate DVD player or an all-in-one etc.

Cheers,
Steve

i wouldn't recommend ebay screens. bought one myself, and it no longer plays discs. sent to 3 repair centres who can't get parts. i'm now $1000 out of pocket and have a motorized screen

i can still hook the PS2 up to it, but i'm too picky. i'll wait for the new pioneer screens to come out and get a warranty :P

There you go ! I work on the 'you get what you pay for' philosophy most of the time - perhaps that is something to take into perspective --> go a name brand and get a warranty too
