i have no idea how old my ecu is because i did an mpfi conversion but some times my car will start of in second or third gear even if i take of from the lights with the gear leaver in first. untill i turn the car off and back on then it starts fine the other day it stayed 3rd gear in the high way and wouldnt change untill again i pulled over turned it off and started it again
i was wondering if any body has any good ECU RESETING METHODS or know what could be wrong maybe gearbox is on its way even though its only done 120000 ks

sounds like you have a problem with the transmission or the transmission control module.

its going into limp home mode which locks it in 3rd gear.

get it to a transmission specialist and get them to do a code check on it.

see what it comes up with and take it from there.
