ahh thanks didnt know they could order them in.

Im looking at an aftermarket coil pack that is a lot more powerful than the standard one. The website says ordinary leads may have trouble coping with the extra zap, and one of our members who has this coilpack in his v8 has said it will burn out 8mm leads, and 10's are the go.

better to do it right the first time than have it conk out on rooted leads :)

Try contacting Thundercords in Granville, NSW. Sorry, don't have the phone number. They do leads sets for the V8 teams, and applications for most cars. Not cheap, but very good quality. Worth a try.

intersting, since the wire down the centre is the same in 8mm and 10mm leads. and we are using 8mm leads with a blaster3 coil and msd 6Al on our nitrous'ed 351c, with out any problems.

is it really? then wtf is the extra 2 mm for? is it just marketing. I assumed they would be a thicker internals to cope with higher power levels. what sort of leads are you using mate?

If what tickford_6 saying is correct then go for the eights.

They must just extra insulate which is good and bad. one thing from my pre-app i remember (electrical) is that the amp rating is downgraded if there is something else encapsuling the cable ie. insulation. Just thinking out loud if that would have similair effect here.

Just dont go near top guns....

8mm spiral wound leads, NGK, bosch, champion s**t all over topgun leads and are cheaper too.
