My car won't go past 1/8 and I have replaced the thermostat and the temp sender unit.. Many thanks in advance |

Ok, so I didn't write that properly.
The gauge won't move past 1/8th on the instrument cluster so is there a way to test the gauge to see if it can go all the way to the red.. |

pull of the coolant temp sensor plug, located at the thermostat housing, this should make the guage shoot to the red

i think what you really want is for the car to operate in its optimum temperature.
you can do this by testing there thermostat, or if you cant be bothered, get a new one, their cheap and easy to replace. if its in the norm zone, i wouldn't be to worried

Thanks for the replies.
As stated in the first post-I have replaced both the thermostat and the temp sender with new ones..I will unplug the temp sender lead and see if the gauge moves to the red? When I start the car,the temp gauge moves no more than a bee's d**k and that's it.. |
