Hi Guys,
Ok i got some weird things happening in my EF. Its an EF Fairmont and i was driving it and i was going from 1st to 2nd and when i let the clutch out i heard something pop or something and now my clutch pedal is sitting really high , like right near the dash its that high and my clutch is slipping. My nut on the clutch cable is as tight as it can go so i can get it into gear, otherwise i cant. Ive taken it to a few places and they say need to pfix the firewall which is cracked i know but i have put a plte on either side of the firewall and she aint moving so thats fine. Any1 have any idea what happened inside the gearbox? cheers |

Hey mate, Your pedal box could be cracked. An extremly common occurance. Did you convert it to manual??? If you didnt strenghten your firewall then about 4-6 months later it gives way. Its not the easiest thing to fix either, cos in the ef/el you have to pull out the dash to do so.
Have a look up where your clutch attaches to your pedal box and see if its on a huge angle. Then let us know!!!

nope pedal box is fine, that has gone before and has been strengthened up so shes good, and the firewall is now strengthened so it has to be something in the gearbox right?

i would say its either something to do with the throw out arm or the pressure plate has failed..
if so the gearbox needs to come out! |
