Any tips/tricks on how to get the wire through the seat for a rear head rest monitor?

Either unstitch it (then restictch it).
Or try with a straightened out coat hanger, attach the wire to it, and push it on through (beware of possible damange this may do to the seat covering).

Perhaps a safer way than the coathanger (which may be the only way to do it) is to get a piece of yellowtongue (the thin plastic strip out of tongue and groove flooring) and try using that to get it down.

My idea would be for a peice of small diametre soft plastic tubing... thread that up there to where you want it... and then feed your wire through after your happy with the position of the tubing... and then just remove the tubing... |

wasn't hard at all, undid one of the rings holding the material together on the bottom, hand up there grab wire and pull down. peice of piss really...

It's fiddly, but I used a long fibreglass rod. It's semi flexible but strong.
Passed it as far as I could then stuck the cable to it and puled it back. I could reach a fair distance up the back of the seat cover once I unclipped it at the bottom.

Yeah, but it doesn't stop a lot of people.
Be aware you're driving an illegal vehicle, so cancel you're insurance as it's void anyway.

I called the RTA today. They said that because the Headrest is an ADR approved item, that if it is modified or replaced in anyway, you have to get an engineers certificate.
So how much does that cost? Luke |

So how much does that cost? Luke i'd say it would cost as much as it breaks balls, Everything has to be engineered nowadays.

I don't think cutting a hole in the cloth at the back of the headrest would break any rules.
It's still structurally perfect - the screen doesn't affect it's job.
