I have sorted out my shifts by screwing in the S5 in the box 3/4 of a turn i may go in again to go another 1/4 turn.So is there a physical solution as inside the box to fix the kickdown ,IE to make it happen quicker?
And if so what.

What about these shiftkits,
http://www.shiftkits.com.au/ShiftKitsFord.aspx I know its not a physical solution but its quick and simple. It will harden the shifts up. Or are you after something to do inside the gearbox without cutting wires? If so I got no idea. I'm a simple man. |

Thx guys shifting up is great but when downshifting it sometimes takes too long.
Due on the dyno in a few weeks so i'll do it through the edit i think. Ridin low someone said that shifting quicker is actually better for the auto than slower as it doesn't slip and heat things up,i actually don't know but that's what i heard.

I would of thought that the shiftkit increases the pressure both up and down?

Yes it probably does.
I got rid of 90% of the flaring/slippage upshifting by tweaking the S5. It may not have/may have helped the kickdown as i was so 1 tracked on fixing the upshift i was in the moment so to speak and have no reference point for the kickdown. So if i go back in and reset the S5 i will now have some reference as to the kickdown,i don't think it will help though but could be wrong.

Adaptive shift has fixed the problem, then as i hadn't driven at full power for a couple of weeks the adaptive shift thought it didn't have to shift up as i'd be braking soon.
Have reflashed and reset the auto so it's all good.
