Just bought my second car 3 weeks ago.

It's white, has quality paintwork all round (bar a few spots of rust) except for the bonnet (which I have found a common problem in these cars) and the front lip.

I'm going to spray the grey bumper trim all around the car white and re-do the front lip.

I have two questions.
Can I give it a fair go at doing myself if I buy a bottle of paint in a aerosol can and some sand paper (obviously not for the bumper trim)?
And what are some basic, cheap mods I could do to make it look better.

I was thinking of some HID look a like bulbs ($40) and some fog lights.
What else would suite?

Maybe some simple rims.. even FTRs would look good and suit the car. IMO the ED doesn't need much to look good, its already got nice clean lines.

Clear front indicators, EF Ghia or FTR alloys, lower it, debadge it.

From memory ED Ghia's had chrome grille's? One of those would look nice.

Then just chuck on a 2.5 exhaust and you have good look's and a decent sound.

Should be able to do it all for under 1k aswell, then look into getting the exterior colour coded, all grey bumper trim to white, doorhandles mirror etc white.

Would be a nice car.

Edited, just realized its already a Fairmont.

Get EF/EL leather or velour doortrims and chuck them in, looks alot more modern then the ED style velour.

My paint code is H, does that sound right?

All my mates cars have about 4 - 6 digits

you should have a letter and number, like mine is G 5, being cardinal red. go for some clear indicators, AU repeaters. lower dark tint. they look mint really easy.
