My El Fairmont drivers window motor assy has packed up.
I,m thinking of replacing it myself, instead of paying $300 to someone. Is it very hard to swap out the unit? How long to do it? |

All you have to do is remove the door trim, drill out the rivets for the power window motor, disconnect the wiring and unbolt the power window runner from the bottom edge of the glass. Pull the power window motor assembly out from the bottom of the door.
Feed the new motor and assembly in the door, bolt it to the door and bolt it on to the glass. Wire it up and see how you go - adjust if necessary. $300 to repalr - can be done for under $200 on your own, shouldn't take more than half an hour. Some mechanics in Melbourne can do it for under $200. |

For $200 you can do all four yourself.
