Hey guys.
I have been trying to work out why my pulleys are so noisy. They are horribly loud at a cold start, and doesn't really quieten up til it reaches temp. Idlers have been replaced not too long ago, not sure when the belts were replaced but they look good. Belts are tight too, not sure about the AC belt. It seems to be fairly tight however. The noise seems to be coming from the AC comp. I know there's a grinding noise coming from it on rare occasions and the front seizes up. I am sure this is bad. If the compressor is screwed royally, should I just take the belt off? I don't have the money to get a new comp or get the existing one fixed, so whats my best option? Is there some form of lubricant I can use to possibly fix this? What's my best option, or am I completetly wrong about the problem?

Try taking the AC belt off and see if the noise dissapears. If not, remove one of the others and listen, may be water pump, power steer pump or alternater bearings. Just use process of elimination, at least then you'll know where the problem is. Good luck.

And what should I do once I find it? I don't have any money to fix it at the moment. If its AC should I just leave the belt off?

If it's AC, yeah just leave the belt off and save up the cash. If it's anything else, it will need to be fixed asap, so you will have to find some cash somewhere, or stop driving the car till it's fixed. Simple as that I'm afraid. Let us know what you find, and someone on here may be able to help you out on the cheap. Good luck.
