i did get the au vrs kit

you were meant to get the EF VRS kit, throw the head gasket from that kit away, THEN go to Ford and buy yourself a genuine AU metal headgasket.

As above, any Retail outlet..
ie: repco, bursons, autobarn etc will provide you witha ea-au VRS kit, However these are pretty much just that... a cheap aftermarket valve regrind set.

All components in the kit are ok, bar the head gasket.
sure, it'll work, but its just a s**t composite gasket that doesn't handle the alloy/cast expansion as WELL as a genuine Multi layer steel (mls) gasket.

eg. AU vrs kit will suit EA-AU but if its not from ford, it'll be a basic acl/monotorque slap on... cheap and works, lets mechanics make money. as they cost around $60.
