i believe its supposed to be paper but it feels a little cardboardish if that makes a difference? Yeah i'm thinking of using a LED instead but i was told the blue still wont go through but eh i dont no.

if u really are stuck, you could always try a blue sleeve over the globe thats in there, with the blue paper.. just to give it that little more darkness. LED"S seem to do a spot in the middle or whereever its pointing..

pack of 5 sleeves cost like 2$

As you can see, I have a blue dash, trip computer and clock. I had problems with the clock, so I used blue papaer and blue LED. I ended up putting 2 LEDs in the clock and pointing them sideways so that I dont get any spots directly on the clock face, there is a spot there at the moment but im gonna fix that up. I like the sanding idea though might give that a go too.
As for the 3rd button not lighting up, im going to try just putting an extra LED behind the 3rd button itself.

One thing I'd try, is to get your LED, and go at it with some sandpaper til the whole LED has a frosted appearance, that should help diffuse (spread) the light better, and may make the light 'paths' do their job properly. Also may help those with bright spots on their LCDs and clusters.

(NOTE: I haven't done any of these mods - yet. just some ideas)

Here's what lightly sanding your LEDs will do.

Sanded/frosted one of the left.

Here's the best shot I got with the camera. Again sanded one on the left, both are being driven with the same current, so brightness is the same, just the sanded one distributes it better. It's much more evident/impressive with real eyes.

LOL... anytime I see red LED readouts, I always think of those submarine movies where the sub is on red alert and everything is lit up in red only... :)

Blue is interesting and again not seen very often until recent / late model cars. Green has been a traditional color on most cars for decades and has been well and truly done. What would be different would be another odd color like yellow perhaps. Anyone feeling brave enough? 8-)
