nice work mate..im about to start a similar project with my au motor ive rebuilt.
just wanting to know how long it takes to remove the old engine/fit the new one and hook it up? i don't want to be off the road for too long, but can't leave it too late (its getting marked..) im thinking 2-3 weeks should be fine for removing old one, fitting new one (including t5 conversion) and tuning ect.. will be enough |

It took me 8 days, shut down to start up. Doing about 4-5 hrs a day.
If your not doing VCT, you dont need to redo the wiring harness. You can simply wire in the coolant sensor in near the connector. Manual Conversion wise : I removed the Engine and gearbox together - and if its a manual Id throw them in together. The Engine Crane I used had too many links of chain to the hook (from the engine crane itself) - so I lost some clearance, and it wasnt as clean as I wanted to pull out. Put the engine in by itself, and was lucky that everything pretty much just lined up. 30 mins mucking around and I was ready to go. I think you could do it in 2-3 days if you planned it. Nigel |

Im still working on drive - looks like I may need exhaust work.
Yeah I had 2 leaks - front O-Ring thermostat cover, and the water tap. All sorted now... just didnt have a host to clear it out. Its certainly smoother. I also upgraded the transmission and thats been nice. |
