Hello
My drivers side window will no longer raise or lower (unless physical force is applied). I think the motor and electrical side of things are okay as I still hear a noise when I press the button. It appears as though the glass may have come away from its guides or something to that effect. I knew something was wrong when I pressed the button to lower the window and the glass lowered much faster than normal. I do not feel competent in repairing this problem myself. I am unsure as to who I should call. Do I call a mechanic, auto electrician, glazier, automotive locksmith? I wouldn't have a clue and the Yellow Pages hasn't helped any. Any information will be very much appreciated. |

The cable drum will be damaged.
you can get a whole new window mech for about $60-$100 from ebay or the local wrecker. they are pretty easy to swap if you have a roofing punch for the rivets. |

They will sort it out.Its really not that hard.worst part is getting that frigging snipper button on and off properly without damaging it !

You can just drill out the rivets with a 6mm drill, and bolt in the replacement winder mechanism with some stainless nuts and bolts.
Not that hard, but time consuming for a first timer. Cheers BenJ

hehe, I don't know about getting it off, but getting it back on properly again, they just never seem to go back on properly. Actually does anybody know how to get it back on properly they never seem to sit down right.

for the button, it just screws on, so lower the door trim over the rod as far as it'll go down without breaking and then just screw on the button.
will go on fine. takes a bit of practice to learn how balance the trim with one hand and then do the button with the other though.

Haha, f**k so simple, I figured you had to push it on, since you have to yank it out. will go on fine. takes a bit of practice to learn how balance the trim with one hand and then do the button with the other though.
Ahwell guess it can wait until I have them off next.
