This is any old BBM conversion thread. I asked ages ago when i was a noobie on this site. Just a few queastions!
Can a EF/EL BBM manifold with the butterflys and guts removed using the fuel rail, EB injectors and EB loom? Would the engine run as it would with the Log manifold? (i assume it would as there isn't any butterfly operations and no varible speed operations) What would i need? BBM manifold Throttle Body Fuel Rail AU or EF or EL or BA ducting " Airbox & Snorkel EF/EL Acclarator Cable and Pedal Would there be any gains in this?

No need to use the EB fuel rail, not even sure it'll work.
The bbm goes on easy. Use your own EB wiring harness, plumb in the complete vacuum switch setup from an EL and run a wire from the ecu to said switch and run an EL ecu. Read these: http://www.fordmods.com/forums/gutless- ... 49340.html http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=40806 |

Many would argue that there is no real benefit of converting to a full operational BBM from a Log Manifold. I see even less point in converting to one with no guts in it.
It would work well down low, but would struggle at the top end, as there is no high speed path for the air to flow. The only exception would be if you had a boosted engine. BenJ

EB loom will need the IAC - TPS - IAT sensor plugs changed / extended.
EF/EL fuel rail, you will need to cut the crimp off the fuel rail fittings then push your flexible lines onto them. please make sure the rail has no fuel in it before doing this You will need an EF/EL acc cable and bracket (and maybe accel pedal) and if you DONT have an EF-AU rocker cover you will need to drill+tap yours for the bracket. you'll also need to bend your heater pipes out of the way. you can leave the guts intact and run it with your ECU, ive played around with using long and short runners, i find short runners works best long runners give nothing up high. I did my conversion on sunday - and if your car wont turn over afterwards, check to see that the red wire going to the starter solenoid? hasnt come off

BenJ what ya mean benj top end like speed or top end of the rev range??? JOSE wrote: EB loom will need the IAC - TPS - IAT sensor plugs changed / extended.

(not the one that holds the ducting)

there is a tapped hole in EF-AU rocker covers for the bracket that holds the end of the acc cable. the intake ducting is held by posts on top of the rocker cover bolts themselvs (or nothing in my case)

And don't forget you need the big long metal heater pipe that goes from behind the water pump, under the extractors, around the back of the head and under the manifold, and the heater hoses from the firewall are different as well.
