Sowing machines go faster and use less fuel.

That's why.

I love v8's too, but I don't really think its the way to go.

oh I dunno.. V8 supercars seems pretty quick to me.
V8 or V6 or V12 isn't the only criteria..

you can have a V10 that is only 2 litres if you want.. that doesn't make it a bad engine..

likewise, you an have a lumpy 4 or 6cyl as well.

my point was that having a rocking tappet cover is no criteria to judge a sporty motor on..

EDIT: I'll jump into the conversation haha. I'm a tech head, i'll take a high tech turbo 6 cylinder engined car any day. But i do agree (and i don't reckon there would be anyone that wouldn't) but you cannot beat the sound of a V8, even if it isn't as quick as a turbo 6, it still sounds awesome *drool*

Sorry ed Fairmont bat that were you are wrong. A 3 litre RB30 was introduced in 1986 with 118kw in r31 form and the equvalant for 4.1 litre ford with EFI was 120kw.

the 4.1 would kill it for torque though. those 4 speed manual s-packs flew for their day. considering its a dirt simple engine compared to the rb30 she went alright. peak kw is no measuring stick for how good an engine is ffs.
