Hey guys.

I have an EF Fairmont of which i am about to put literally everything of into my EB.

My Question is, the factory stacker is shagged in the Fairmont, is there still replacements available that go straight in?

If not, is there a stacker i can buy that can be wired into- or use a converter plug to wire it in?

Thanks,

Andrew.

Go to Northfield at Moorooka, you can get a MP3 stacker that fits the premo head unit (i have looked into this...) all you need is the stacker and a different conector. Although I have not verified this. But have heard of it done.

Also, did the EF fairmonts have the factory amp standard, or was it optional?

If i don't have the amp, can i wire in my current aftermarket amp to drive my aftermarket sub?

If it has the premo sound (double din display) then yep it has the amp, which did the rear speakers and sub. I have my aftermarket amp and sub pluged into it, works perfectly.

oh ok, i must have the mid series then, its a single din.

Can i still wire in my kenwood amp to it? I plan on just running the other speaker off the factory HU and wiring, but need the sub hooked up somehow.

Its in the boot on the drivers side behind the carpet panels.

No i haven't been able to, the car is sitting at my dads place. I'll have to check on the weekend.

Alternativly i could unhook the rear speakers, and use thier feeds as a high input for the amp if i don't have the factory one?

Thanks
Andrew.

If it is a single din unit it is the mid series and won't have an amp and you won't be able to connect an amp to it properly.
Yes a mp3 stacker is available and does work, this has been discussed on here loads of times as to what you need to make it work....

Yep, i rang northfield today and can get a stacker and the required cable.

Can i use the rear speaker outputs from the headunit as i high input into the amp? I can't see why that would be a problem. I never sit in the back, so the rear speakers can blow me.

Yes that will work, but it is a poor option really as the headunit's built in amp is realively high in the distortion factor and then your new amp will then amplify this distortion.... but it will work...

Cool cool, that'll do the EB fine.

Thanks for the help guys.

Andrew.
