Hi all,

I know this has come up before, but I can't remember where and I couldn't find it using the search..

Since I put the EL ECU in my EA Ghia, the trip computers instant lt/km reading just stays on 99... I know someone was working on figuring out a work around, but can't find the thread..

anyone remember or know of a way to get it working again with the EL ECU?
(other than putting in an EL dash. :-)

You can change the pin out for the PWM to Pin 58 on the EL ECU.

I had it that way for a while, and seemed quite accurate, not perfect, but good enough.

Cheers

Pin 34, which in the EL ECU is the DATA output line for the instrument cluster etc.

So basically, cut the wire coming from pin 34 on the ECU plug and join it to what is now pin 58?

if it's that easy, wish I'd done it when I was doing the rest of the mods.

Not quite.

Yes you can cut the wire from pin 34 as in your car that wire will be joined to nothing. However, you have to splice the wire going to the EB trip computer into Pin 58, adding the wire in and maintaing the original connection, or your injectors won't work.
