the lock in my tailgate doesn't lock or unlock, i turned it to lock one day and i think i turned it too hard, do i need a new lock barrel or can it be fixed.

What exactly is happening? The lock in a wagon (at least EA - ED) connects to the actual lock system with a small bar that pushes into a plastic locking tab thingy. Pull the number plate mount off and take a look, it all depends on what you find.

To pull the surround off you need 8mm sockets. Remove your number plate and there is a single bolt right in the middle. Then remove the cover from inside, the one with the speaker grills in it. That will be screwed on with about 8 screws. Once that is off, there are 4 more 8mm bolts holding the outer no. plate panel on. Of course all this is for EA to ED and I do not know if the EF/EL are the same but I would think so.

Once you have that outer panel off you will be able to see what is going on in there.

so if t e lock can still turn then it could be fords crappy plastic crap locking mechanism that i may have broken?

i guess i'll find out on wednesday when i pull it apart
