Hi guys my XR6 (3.45LSD) just shat its self on the way home from work tonight.
I'm getting MASSIVE thumping sounds from the a*** end when I turn corners. I've noticed noises getting louder and louder from it the past few weeks so I went and seen a few guys. They said my bearings have gone and they need replacing. Theres no way this thumping is my bearings. I had planned on getting it re-built soon but thought it would hold out. Now the cars off the road the problems so bad. I've gotta tow it from Geelong to Melbourne. What a pain. Any opinions on what it might be? Nathan |

Most likely LSD cone/s is damaged.
Is it worse when you turn a certain direction? No problems straight ahead? Either way, looks like you may be up for a rebuild whether you like it or not. |

I hope you don't admit that to her? Car = Money Pit Woman = Money Pit But at least you can lock the car in the garage and ignore it when it annoys you. |

Strangly enough my mate who is a ford apprentice told me about this exact problem a few days ago. He said it is common in the early Ba's.
Have you driven the car hard or babied it? (just asking out of interest.)

Well thats a bit s**t.
Maybe a BA/BF isnt the best car for me then. Not if that happens as often as ive heard.
