Hello,

I drove my BA 2003 manual ute up my mates drive way and it is about a 40 degree incline. I drove up slow in 1st gear with a small load in the tray and about half way up the clutch started to slip and a massive amount of smoke came from the under the car. when this started I stopped the car and let it role back down the hill and drove up the hill at speed. I understand that it was the clutch slipping and burning...

Is this a sign that the clutch is starting to say that it is buggered or would you just expect this to happen on such a steep incline?

Normally longer than that, but if you tow or carry a load, it reduces their life a bit. Std clutches arent much chop, so replace with something a bit heavier.
