i wouldnt say illegal? as long as the light isn't obstructed i would have assumed you'd be fine.

not like he has tinted them heavily.

The lights came with the appropriate coloured globes so the brakes and tail lights are red and so forth, the frosted reflectors are more prominent and visible than the stockers.

They are illegal, there has to be a certain area of red reflective material on the rear end of the vehicle.

I called the RTA technical support line, he sent me a copy of the ADR's and ECE regugaltions. he wasn't sure if they were illegal, but the onus is on me to prove they are, so for the moment they are off the car.

They need to have red reflectors on the plastic. Thats why I got rid of my clear tail lights for the EL.

If it wasn't for that they'd be legal.

They don't necessarily have to have red reflectors IN the lights the vehicle HAS to have red reflectors at the rear of the vehicle. :D

Definitely an 'acquired' taste......

There has to be a red reflector at the rear of the car - VT/VX or whatever model it was had them in the rear bumper, most cars have them in the lights.

Unless you slap a red reflector or 2 on the rear, they aint gunna be legal.
