i didnt really notice this untill i drove a diffrent car, but once i got back into my own car i noticed that unlike the last car i drove i needed a fair bit of effort to pull it up but its not in the relm of buggerd vacum hose hard, i can still get the brakes to lock up so i can still stop reletivly quickly.

on my last service the mechanic said that the brake fluid needed changing (amongst other things), i thought "yea whatever go bleed someone else dry" but now i wonder....can crappy brake fluid give you a hard brake pedal?

generally if you suffer from a hard pedal it indicates the booster is faulty, nothing unusual on an ef-el if thats the model your speaking off,and no dirty fluid does not normally result in hard pedal.

damn, more money to spend that i dont have, well i'll leave it for now since i can still stop the car, but how much would a second hand brake booster cost for an EL Falcon?

what was the other car?

When I jump out of my car, and into my sisters EF GLi, no abs, I can feel a massive difference.

ABS cars have further for fluid to travel and vanes to go through, Non abs is almost direct.

I prefer the feel of my car and I know they perform better overall,
However without being cautious, I almost go through the windscreen in hers.

the other car was a brand spanking new camery, it had no effort in the brakes, very touchy.

ahh there you go!

Falcon's built to take a 6'4" bloke! with a strong leg.

Camry's for the ladies! 4foot nothin with no weight!

Bleed the brakes! it'll cost you about $40 for very good fluid and take an hour out of your time.

From there work on the booster is required.

not worth bleeding brakes if your going to replace the booster...
rebuilt booster isn't gonna set you back too much.
