I need help to resulve a mechanical problem. 1 month agoa a service centre serviced my Transit, during this service i was contacted to ok a clutch work to fix a problem. a throwout bearing and cylinder was replaced and $1500 latter i drove off.
While stopped at the lights down the road i noticed a grinding sensation when the clutch was depressed whist in neutral. I rang the mechanic who said to bring it back in the morning. I di, nothing wrong they said. the noise continued and i took it back agai, nothing wrong they said. It continued and they said come back in two weeks and they will pull it apart. they did and rang again and said for $2400 the catestrophic clutch problem can be fixed.

I think they left a pin out or miss alligned it, your thoughts?
Has any one heard of a simmilar thing happening?

Thanks for listening.

$2400 is about right for a clutch kit. at ford they do clutch plate, press plate, flywheel (as the old one cant be machined) thrust bearing, pilot bearing, 8x clutch plate bolts and 8x flywheel bolts so for that price it looks like they wanna do the whole shibang. ask em which parts they are gonna use gen or non-gen

Do you think the initial work could have caused the problem consider4ing it began immediately after the clutch was first repaired?

yep. but in this case, covered by warranty. half a job ford...
AU ute clutch failed. replaced disc only.
back in 2 weeks for full new kit...
They just don't/won't do a full job properly.
Don't stand for them doing half a job. stuffing that up. and then doing the rest!
