righto fellas heres a problem. Drivin the other night and it wouldnt change out of first so i stoped, restarted it was alright then i wouldnt change out of second and wouldnt change down either. Gear box has had it right? If not wats the problem?

Might not be the cause but try checking all your earth straps are on and tight. Also check all wiring connectors related to the box. I had a similar prob with mine and ended up being the earth strap had come off.

What car are you talking about? from your profile, Falcon GL, I would assume X series. also its an auto right. V8 or 6?

If all this is correct and its stuck in 1st does it improve when the box gets warm? The reason I ask is I once had the same problem with a XD with Borg Warner 35 auto. Tranny would stay in 1st for a few k's until box was warm then would change normally. This went on for ages until it got so bad that it would roll backwards in drive down a slight gradient. The tranny had to be rebuilt. Luckily BW35's are fairly cheap to rebuild now.
