hi guys. after browsing through the forums in search of an already answered question of the same nature, and not having much luck, im here asking for your advice
i have an au2 falcon sedan, remote central locking, hornet alarm system. about 3 weeks ago, i realised when locking the car, the rear door behind the drivers door was making a weird noise like it was vibrating or shaking severely when locking and unlocking the car. didn't take much notice, thinking i'd just get it looked at later when i had the time, and that it was probably just something that needed tinkering with... i thought wrong. got back to the car this afternoon after work. interior light is on - s**t, dead battery. rear door is wide open - s**t, battery is the last of my worries. new notebook, cd player, cds, clothes, new shoes all sitting there on the ground in the back... BUT STILL THERE!!! lucky i have an alarm. i guess it scared them off. but now i realise i have a problem - the back door does not lock. all of the others do, the alarm arms/disarms... but i have the back door to worry about. what could this be? should i take the door card off and get in to look at it? something that needs simple replacement? or a job for the auto elec? thanks guys! ky |

Replace the motor, they were out after time. (Can be tricky thou)
Note, whenever I lock my car I check all doors and the boot/bonnet just as a double check. What happened to you, has happened to a mate of mine.

need a new door lock actuator. au actuators have now been replaced with with later model bf units so you will also need to purchase a additional jumper loom to connect the actuator to the wiring loom in the door

true, BUT before spending 100 bux plus on a single actuator, try soaking ur door lock mechanism in deisel for a couple of hours to clean it out.. they can get really grubby, and sometimes the factory actuators arent strong enough to lock because of all the build up of s**t and grease on them. just try it before spending the big bux. it might work out.

if its making the noises it will have actually snapped the shaft inside it which cannot be ordered seperately.
