Does any one know why my car would all of a sudden start to back fire on gas?
I had a vacuum hose split, and one of the plastic T piece it connects to shatter. After replacing everything that was broken and looking at all my other vacuum hoses and replacing other ones. I am now getting one of two things , back firing on gas. No low end power my car will barley move and some times stutter. Other times it is fine. I have a EB2 with Multipoint fuel injection OMVL converter Replaced all vacuum hoses and fittings. New PCV value I was thinking it could be related to the spark plugs and leads but haven’t had a lot of time to test it yet. But I got none of this before the vacuum leak, although I did get that after a really cold morning. So maybe it has to do with the cold not sure. |

My mum's AUII backfired and drove roughly after 1500km's on conversion and had a leak that you could hear clearly in the cabin. I checked under the hood and found a poorly sealed hose fitting to the plastic intake pipe before the throttle body. Took it back and they fixed it. Unsure how though, sorry, but maybe worth taking back to your convertor. One thing they told me though was WAIT a few seconds when you turn your ignition key to "prime" the gas system, whether this helps I don't know but a useful thing to know.
Hey good luck mate...

Mine backfired occasionally on gas and it turned out my ignition leads were worn and they are under more demand on LPG than petrol.
New set of leads, and she hasn't backfired since.
