I've put a chrome tip on my exhaust for the time being. Also, I'm looking at putting a K&N Pod Filter instead of a panel filter. They are the same price and apparently the Pod is meant to be better. Any other tips? Pics soon! You can vary the sound of the exhaust depending on how many mufflers you use etc etc... Its hard to hear them without it being on your car. You would get it installed at any exhaust shop. |

this would be the way i would do it:
cat back exhaust lower sound system dark tint (looks like that could already be done) extractors debadge rims then drive it for a few years without f**k it! and take off that exhaust tip, thats nasty!! |

Hey dude just some advice if your going to have your drums and other equipment in the car make sure tint is one of your first mods, theres lots of pricks around that'll see the kit and break in and thats coming from the drummers i know!
Check legalities but im pretty sure the rear windows can be darker then normal windows legally. Anyway here is what i would do in order. Tint - $400ish Lower - $400ish Exhaust - $300ish Either new speakers (they are 5"x7") or whole new audio setup $depends what you want) Rims - Even some nice AU 17" Fairlane rims would look good, saw on one of the forums someone has them for sale at $500 Then I'd start looking into interior conversions from a Fairlane/LTD After that your car will be mint and that can be done for under 2k!

my thoughts are (and i prefer go over show).
Go: catback exhaust, its around $300 for a sedan, so im not sure if it'd be a bit more for a wagon. sedan id recommend (and have) 1 muffler 1 resonator, not sure if this isnt a good idea on a wagon or not. (extractors if you got cash lying around). K&N panel (dont bother with a pod, just do panel) filter. show: xr springs and shocks. sound: replace the rear speakers with some decent ones, and you'll be fine for the time being.

now please don't take this the wrong way as i'm not meaning to a smart a*** or anything....BUT! dude it is your first car, and just like all of us you just short of plan that your first car will be street machine of the year sometime soon. at the end of the day it is a poverty pack white falcon wagon. sure get an exhaust to make it sound and go a bit better (and more efficiently) and probably the stereo, but save you money and get a car that will and can look REALLY good. keep the wagon as your daily driver and drum mover and drive the thing until it dies but spend your money on something that you will want to keep for ages and ages.
once again i'm not dissing out you or your car but i wouldn't recommend pouring all of your hard earned dollars into this one. *edit for speeling |

No offence taken. If I were to get an FPV exhaust to fit on my car, would that sound good? I don't want it loud all the time, just when I open up the throttle etc. Kind of like the XR 6.
Then I will probably lower it. Then wheels, they are the most expensive! |

fpv exhaust is a good idea but i dont know if it will fit due to the wagon. the GT exhaust goes onto an xt sedan the ute exhaust may fit the wagon. some1 will have to clarify that

Nice first car man. I think everyone knows what the 'first car' does to any car freak. its a complete love affair so to speak. You just wanna pour every single moment of time and dollar you have into it and who could blame you. haha.
The advice for everyone here is pretty solid. Get it looking good first in my opinion. Tint, Suspension and Rims. Your in luck when it comes to rims. BA offset rims are common as they are the same as alot of other 5 stud cars and come in heaps of styles and concequently are pretty cheap if you look around. Anyway best of luck with your future mods and dont forget to post pics of everything. Cheers, Woody. |
