I think I'll stick with gogetta's suggestion with an EB2 Sender.

The tyres for the 14" rims have bigger sidewalls than the tyres for the 15" rims, meaning that they have the same overall diameter, being around 25".

Factory speedo's normally overread by about 5% with new tyres so when the tyres are worn the speedo does not underread.

ED had a 3.08 ratio std

your speedo will be reading 3.27/3.08 times faster (showing 106 @ 100 kmh)

Well thats that aspect of the car sorted, how about the tyres? mine are 15, as I'm still learning about the fords I thought they had a 14 inch diameter at some point. On my car I have turbo blades off a fairmont Ghia, my car is a ED Fairmont. Can someone confirm? and also I'm assuming I can buy the speedo corrector from jaycar as the ED is electronic yeah? or is it like the vn where it appears to be electronic but if you go further inside the car you find that it is cable driven.

Thanks for all your help guys,

James

rim size doesnt effect speedo readings, its overall rolling diameter (the outside of the wheel) which does. so saying you've gone from 14s to 15s means nothing, as long as the tyre sidewall has been shrunk enough to accommodate this increase in rim size.
