Has anyone got one of these...? thought eBay would be straight onto this with a $20 OBCII to Usb connector and generic software but it appears not :-(

how much information can be displayed from a falcon...? it says it can even give you a 1/4 mile time which would be pretty cool... (now they need to give a a score out of 10 for the burnout before 8-) ) not sure how accurate it would be...

can hook up gps but seems abit dodge atm... no prices for software and say Linux software available...

hears a few youtubes...

Saw those, and thought about intergrating it in place of the gauges on my FPV.

As for what can it show. We'll anything any other OBD2 scanner can read.

As a quick guide, here's some of what can be seen on my GT-P

Edit: And there's lots of ways to build a cheap scanner using a OBD2-USB thingy, and cheap/free software, but none of it will be a small touch screen device that'll sucker to your window.

Is that connector on the ecu itself or mounted else where in the car for an Au. As when i do my engine tranplant (AU to XW) i want to be able to plug one of these in.

would u connect it via the diagnostics connector?

I thought that AUs had the same OBD plug but it used different communications protocols

wonder how it would be for a late E-series and AU, be interesting to find out.

anyone know where abouts this connector would be on the car?
Interested as I'm looking at doing a basic program up that will be able to pretty much do this.

Won't work on E series (doesn't support OBD2 at all). AU's are hit and miss, I think they support some of OBD2, but may not be enough for things like this to be useful.

Connector is in the interior fuse box.

There's plenty of info on the net about OBD2 interfaces (it's a fully digital connection, transmitted on a 'bus' with a balanced pair of wires).

For E series stuff, check here for the thread on a how to make a EF diagnostic tool (something like that).
