Ok the V8 extention housing is longer than the 6cyl one so the crossmember is too far back to pick up the rearmost holes in the body...

Image

If you bolt up one side and the centre mount it puts it out this far on t'other side.

Image

All you need to do is elongate this square hole rearwards.

Image

This is the minimum amount you need to remove.

Image

And neatly bolted up afterwards.

Image

Looks like the tailshaft is going to be a smidge too long but I'm going to lob the nine inch I kept from ute in there so no matter.

Here's the original 4.0 trans lines. They bolt straight up... will repost whether they need massaging when the exhaust is in.

Here's the bracket I made to replace the EGR spacer. It's 3mm stainless but 2mm would have done and it could have been mostly bent rather than needing to be cut and welded.

In position on intake.

With the throttle cable bracket in place.

From underneath...

These ally rocker covers I got are nicley cast but they're really made to suit a U.S. engine with a right hand facing t-body. On an Aussie 5.0 the filler neck hits the plenum and the front of the rocker cover hits the alternator.

Image

So I removed the filler neck and elongated the hole to allow me to weld it in on an angle for the clearance needed. I also blasted them to get rid of the shiny finish that i don't like. You can't see it but I dented the front of the rocker cover in slightly to clear the alternator.

Image

There all better.

Image

Image

Not much clearance between alternator and battery.

Image

Charcoal canister will have to go outside.

Good stuff Pete!

I assume when its all together she'll be left at that, not going to go further with the motor?

And have you found a donor for the V10 yet?

Thanks macka!

I've still got the wiring to do plus a bunch of other stuff....it would be reasonably quick except that I have to work all the bloody time.

Pete.

Here's the ends of the 4.0L and 5.0L throttle cables.
The end clips look slightly different but actually fit straight into the original pedal as normal.
