this has me stumped and i have actually left it for a while and only just thought about posting it up, as my two wheeled addiction has taken preference over the ute for quite some time now

anyway when i turn the key i get all my lights but no crank, at first i thought it was the battery so replaced it, but turns out that as long as i tap the brake pedal before turning the key it will turn over everytime, if i forget to hit the brake first can take a few attempts to actually get it going

does anybody have any ideas to what the problem might actually be?

thanks in advance

dry or broken contacts on the bem module. youll find that simply releasing the handbrake when the key is in the crank pos the car will start. the exact same thing happened with my ed

BEM = Body Electrical Module

it resides behind the dash somewhere and i can't remember where...someone else hopefully will fill that information in :D.

it is inbetween the radio facia and the handbrake lever. take the radio facia off and there will be either one or two screws on the right hand side. undo the plug and pull it out the back towards the firewall. i have found it easyer to take the dash cluster out and drag it out through there.
