hi all, im looking at changing my auto to a manual, i know i need the man ecu, but what happens to the the little computer that runs the auto trans, do you just disconnect or do i have to change the whole wirring system to the manual wirring

There is no little box that controls auto.
In EL's the ECU controls the Engine, Auto,Thermos, AC etc. You will have to acquire a V8 Manual Box, or a CRS/Dellow conversion kit.

yes my v8 has a seperate atuo trans computer, i was wondering if i disconnect that and put in a manual ecu if it would be ok when the converson is done, or do you think ill have to change the whole wiring

It's mounted to a bracket on the left hand side of the pedal box.

All V8's from EB-EL use a separate trans controller. Only from AU did V8's have trans control by the EEC(which is why I'm using an AU EECV to run both in my van).
Generally speaking you'll need to setup your neutral gear switch for the manual by using some of the wiring to your auto trans and attaching it to the neutral gear switch on your T5. |

That will get the car to start as it will think it is in neutral, but without the TCM connected to the ECU, the thermos will run full blast as it thinks the auto box is overheating.
