The night before my exams too!

It did it last night as well. I parked it for a second, went to turn it on and nothing. No turnover, no warning lights, nothing. The ABS and Airbag lights lit up. Cabin lights and radio still worked, but would turn off when trying to start it. Hooked it up to my mate's car and the starter would crank 3 times and die. Left it to charge for a few and still nothing. It worked fine all today. The battery is from my EA and is only about 8 months old, but was left in the car for two weeks when it was off the road. Still, it went from working fine for the past two weeks, to suddenly nothing, and everytime I've started it, I've watched the car's voltage-metre tell me it's charged. Although, it is only about a quarter charged before the alternator seems to bring it up to 3/4.

Possibly starter motor? Thanks for any help guys!

yeah im betting on a starter motor, the bushes could be stuffed in it, causing it to not get enough power to turn.

Well, I got it going after some fiddling with the wires from the starter motor. I'd say loose contact or it's just dying. What's the best option, recondition or buy new one?

Better yet, will my EA's starter motor fit into the AU?

Why? You made that mistake before?

I solved it, anyway. Sprayed the starter motor with a bit of wd-40 and tightened the connection to the terminals as i had as i could get them and its worked ever since. I think they may have been slightly too loose and breaking contact with the terminals.

Sometimes it can be a faulty inhibitor switch ... vehicles thinks it is in-gear and not P or N ... and it won't allow it to crank.
