I am having issues with my car and the millage I get....put simply it stinkz.
I have owned it for about 2mnths. I fill up at the same bouser every time but generally never get over 290kms from a 68 usable tank. ONE time only I got 374.5 with 70 still on dte. It was the only time and I had just previously put in 66. something lites. Now usually it takes all different amounts of gas to fill when I get to the 80km warning beep, but the red arrow never goes past full. On the one good run, it was way over full when i started. On that round I got a whopping amount of kms out of the full tank. Here's me thinking it's because I tried driving in third..... So if anyone can tell me apart from a faulty float what else could stop a gas tank from completely filling I would greatly appreciate it. Tiffany |

gas tanks dont completely fill for safety reasons. about 66-70L is full on an 80L tank. ususlly goes on 80% of tank capacity is full.
your gas system might be out of tune if fuel usage is that bad... that of your foot is too heavy

Gas tanks are only supposed to fill to 80%
When i fill up the gas cars i just let it go till the pump slows done and then stop at the next full dollar amount, gives consistant mileage readings

The thing is my tank is an 80ltr tank. I did 370 kms on the good run with 70 still on the dte. I then filled up and it took only 47 litres. On the times when I get poor miliage it just stops fillling with one click. On the time I got a good run it kept trickling into the tank bit by bit. I must be making no sense in trying to explain. your cutoff valve may be faulty, not sure how it could be related to mileage though, but they are pretty cheap

Could be the bowser as well - some I've found have a weak flow, and will click off early. When the pump clicks off, release and squeeze the trigger a few times, and see if more gas fills each time.
You won't overfill the tank, as the AFL will prevent this. Try other bowsers, and see if your fill improves.

I fill up at the same bouser every time. But only on one occasions did i experience the gas trickling in in the end, that was the only time it filled past the red full line on the fuel gage. Every other time when it did not fill, it seems to just snap shut way under what I believe it could have taken, thus giving me less mileage.

As said before the tank only fills up to about 80% for safety reasons. This is to allow for expansion of the gas. If you filled the bottle to 100%, a small expansion of the gas could result in a big bang.
Also check your gauges. If you can only fit 47L in and the guage says it's on empty you may have a problem with your guage.

What vehicle ... is it factory LPG ... or aftermarket?
Do not trust the DTE reading when it comes to LPG ... it's normally well out of whack ... even on factory LPG vehicles. I have found the main cause is usually faulty LPG senders that are reading incorrectly telling you you either have less in your tank than what you actually have. Then when it comes to ttwin-tan vehicles with dual senders ... one sometims fails and you think you have either half a tank left when in actual fact it is dead empty ... or it reports empty ... but you still ahve half capacity left. 9 times out of 10 it's faulty gauge sender on the tank.
