Udate on fitting an AU 6 cylinder motor into my Landcruiser, replacing a 3F carb engine (110 KW 280 Nm) as there is an adapter kit available. I wish to use all the Ford hand ons and adapt these to the Toyota, eg AC, Power steering pump, Alternator, Thermo"s, maybe even radiator. I have decided to go with an aftermarket ECU or dare i say it a Delco 808 .
has anyone used a Delco on there Ford sixes? Last edited by bigrich on Wed Jun 25, 2008 11:44 pm, edited 2 times in total. |

Bit of an operation, Sure injected is good, but you'll need ecu, smartlock bypass (series one) and all other junk!
Or you could use a carburettor on the AU motor, with a EA manifold slap on a dizzy and have an indestructible engine!

If you go dedicated lpg you can avoid the ecu and harness and sensors and fuel pump etc altogether.
Even if you run petrol though it would use less fuel than the 3F. It has much more power and torque too, and weighs significantly less.
