i bought the chip second hand, and paid for 2 hours custom tuning.
so if you purchased a new chip at 600 plus 2 hours tuning would cost you 900 all up |

I no this thread is abit old but theres no point starting another one, how well did the wade 1636 go for you?, was there much increase from stock cam and did it pull much harder?
cheers

My 1636 didnt give me much improvement until I had a custom tune, picked up .7 of a second down the quater after the tune, .3 with the cam before tune so a full second in the end. The reground cam is cheap and easy to install but the $1000 for the chip and tune is expensive but worth it.

cheers Ok, with an auto it felt stronger but had a leaking headgasket and the autobox condition was questionable so i wasnt overall impressed. Shortly after fitting the 1636, i changed the headgasket and fitted a manual and it went very nice. Ran a 15.2 out of two runs, and even that run i had probs like axle tramp and slipping clutch, im sure high 14's wouldve been easy if the car was up to scratch Was a nice cam |

I found with the 1636 that the revs pick up faster, and as soon as you hit 2500 its game on lol after 2500 - redline it felt a hell of a lot nicer. When i installed mine i only managed to do 20kms before putting on extractors and didnt notice too much difference between the regrind and the stock one. You def need extractors to get the most of it.

ok so is there a surge of power from 2500 onwards? cause the stock cam the power feels so linear.

It definatly feels like it starts making more power from around there but it gives you a real kick when you hit about 3500. On the odd occasion that mine gets driven its always above 3k lol
