i had this same problem when, i cant remember the thread size but i just took one of my gearbox bolts to a nut/bolt shop and told them to match it up with something that a little longer. it may be too long for the stand but thats ok just grab a handful of washers that slide of the bolt and that will take up and clearance between the motor and stand

I went to bunnings and sized it up against a transmission bolt...but just longer. I used a nut that fit the transmission thread to judge what the right bolt is. A bit dodgy but it held the engine well...and still is holding an engine as I type.

phong =P~

thats why I've got a big box full with a random selection of old headbolts... sometimes they are worth hanging onto.

I use a motley of stuff, two of which are common metric threaded rod, it's not high tensile though. Getting four of the right bolts would be best.

And don't ever be tempted to 'drop' the bare block off the stand like i did, it bent the bolts, and stand a little as well.
