im not made of money i might as well be driving my old HG V8 ute at $60 a week + fule adlest it didnt break down all the time i would much prefer to find out why and stop it happening

i put new leads on it at some point cant remember when but i have only had the car 2 or 2 1/2 years so not that long, how long are they ment to last? i will run continuity test over it any way


ummm it cost me nothing to relocate my coil, just used 1m of twin auto cable out of the shed, cut the plug off. Couple of red male and female crimps and Bob's your uncle. Atleast once you move it , you don't have to worry about it being bolted to the engine block (heat) or water dripping on it it from A stuffed heater hose etc...Or engine oil dripping on it from a oil leak from the inlet manifold/head etc...

Seriously I mean by the time you stuff around putting the car on ramps or axle stands to replace the coil in the factory position. Don't you think it's worth while spending another 30min tops to relocate the coil. To a position you can easily access it with the bonnet up on the side of the road.

what i ment was i cant just make it eazy and keep changen em i will think about moving it prob alot while im lying on my back tomorrow

Since your car is LPG, replace your leads, plugs and move the coil. I would say either one of your leads or plugs are shorting to earth and putting a large load on your coil output!!.

Pop the bonnet up at night and see if you can see any stray arcs.

took the coil back to sprint and they are going to send it off for testing, got some industrial earths to replace the origanal ones and orded some 9mm leads there only 80c more expencive then 8mm so my car will be on stands for a bit longer

shorting to earth actualy places less load on the coil.
high resistance is what puts more load on coils.

there is no difference in the conductor between 9mm and 8mm leads.
