he's being sarastic, ford's I6 commo's v6

anyway. if you don't have a wiring diagram pick up your trusty test light and probe the connections.

your looking for:

- constant power -------- ie always power to that wire whether car is running or switched of with the keys out

- switched power --------- ie power at that wire ONLY when the ignition is set to accessories or motor running

- ground --------- put the test light clamp on the battery +ve and probe for a ground. OR you could just wire the ground from the H/U to a suitable metal part near where H/u is to be mounted.

- speakers --------- you should have 4 sets of paired couloured wires (ie Blue and Blue/Black etc) these will be your speaker wires. get a square 9v battery so that you provide power to the speakers (DONT DO THIS TO MUCH OR FOR TOO LONG> YOU WILL DAMAGE THE SPEAKER) by doing this the speaker will crackle and then you will no which wire powers which speaker.

The original head unit that is in it is the pioneer KE-8001F and i have tried to find a diagram everywhere on the net even google and cant find one. I have all thespeaker wires sorted just the power ones. On the original it has a RED, BLACK and ORANGE left over. But on my new head unit it has:

1. 12v accesories
2. 12v constant
3. ground
4. illuminatin

i seem to be missing a wire ? or can someone tell me what which of the reb, black and orange is which ? hope that made sense...

dont worry about illumination, that just dims the h/u when the parkers/headlights are turned on. there will be a blue wire which is your amp remote on lead. there should also be a blue/white wire which is the antenna lead (this just raises and lowers the antenna when the radio is turned on or off)

if you know all of your speaker wires then you will only need to hook up:

red - switched
yellow - constant
black - ground

your speaker wires
and
the blue remote amp (if your running an amp/s

sounds like its the one, but it will pay to just double check it with a test light.

well i can assure u black is ground.. black is always ground.

i would also think red to be the constant.

when we did the ef install that also had the dimmer wire for some reason. hooked it up and ripped it out after a week. evertime u go to the parkers it goes so dim u cant see it

Thanks anyways guys but i figured it out. Black was ground, Red is Accesories and Yellow/Orange was constant. It did not have a dimmer wire. My system is in and pumpin wonderfully. Pain in the a** putting it in but the outcome is great :) thanks guys.
