May 99 onwards is smart shield - AU1 Update ;)

Thats Smartlock not smartshield unfortunately.

only real difference with smartlock to smartsheild is you have a coded key. Youwill prbably have to get ford to reprogram the key, BEM & ECU unless you get them all out the same car otherwise its making sure you get everything right and get it towed to ford for a program.

Putting the AU smartshield BEM + locks would be a pain, I think I need to stick with smartlock. Anyway I have a smartlock AU BEM, Barrel and ECU on the way, just waiting on it to arrive.

Didnt see it in the discussion, but the killer is the AU IMAP Sensor - the Intake air wiring is the same, however the MAP uses an analog signal instead of the PWM signal of the EA-L.

So to do the mod you would need to use the AU upper manifold, a little rewire, and change the ECU at the least.

From there your looking for any pin differences.

Im interested in the difference!.

I have LPG Running *perfect* on mine now (I do have the programming cable), but I think I may need a ticky ECU for petrol to smooth things out
